3PSC developed as a result of the Federal Government's decision to outsource many of its activities to the commercial sector.
In the early 1980s, the Federal Government decided to commercially contract the operation and maintenance of ships owned by the federal government to commercial contractors.
3PSC is a company that has its roots in one of the first companies that was awarded a major operations and maintenance contract for a fleet of government (Navy) owned ships. This early commercial operator was Sea Mobility. Sea Mobility was purchased by a major defense contractor in 1986, which itself was purchased by a larger defense contractor in 2003. 3PSC was founded in 2002, and continues this early tradition of efficient commercial operation.
This is a tradition of discovering what the federal sector customer requires and developing a methodology to meet these requirements. Federal employees are sometimes constrained by rules and history in addressing the requirements of their internal customers. As a contractor, we meet our customers requirements through commercial best practices.
